Dinesh Patel is a Consultant Urologist specialising in the management of adult urinary tract conditions. He has offices in Campsie and Liverpool in Sydney, Australia.

He is a graduate of the University of New South Wales and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2000. He is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and the European Association of Urology.

Dinesh has been in specialist practice since 2001 and has achieved extensive experience and expertise in performing many urological procedures, including major cancer surgery, with excellent outcomes.

His main areas of interest are the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer, male urinary problems due to prostate enlargement, and kidney stones. He also looks after many individuals with other urological conditions including kidney, bladder and testicular cancer, urinary symptoms and urinary tract infections.

As a qualified robotics surgeon, Dinesh utilises the very latest robotic technology, the da Vinci Xi system. Using the da Vinci robot, in conjunction with many years experience in successfully treating prostate cancer, ensures that his patients achieve the best possible results from radical prostatectomy.

Dinesh provides a personalised approach for his patients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances. He is always open and honest with his patients, ensuring that all management and treatment options are discussed. As one of his patients, you can be confident you are receiving the best care available.

Dr Patel is an accredited specialist surgeon in the following hospitals, so he can comprehensively care for privately insured and Medicare patients:

I believe that surgical excellence is not just about performing surgery to the highest possible standard. It's also about providing ethical and sound advice and support for my patients, so that the best possible outcome is achieved.

COVID-19 Information

COVID-19 continues to be the main public health concern facing Australia at present, and continues to seriously impact the way we live. It is also clear that this disease is not going to disappear in the foreseeable future and that our greatest chance of bringing it under control and reducing serious illness and death, is by having as many people vaccinated as possible. This advice is endorsed by the NSW Health Department.

Despite the false claims, misinformation and scaremongering that are widespread on social media and in the community, ALL available Covid vaccines are extremely safe, well tested and highly effective. In addition, every adult in Sydney now has free and ready access to Covid vaccination.

In response to the Covid pandemic, this practice has instituted a number of measures to maximise the safety of all our patients as well as staff and doctors working in the practice.

Teleconferencing is available to all patients, and for many urological conditions, it is possible to have a comprehensive, productive and efficient consultation without face to face contact.

For those patients who prefer a face-to-face consultation with Dr Patel or who need to undergo a physical examination, it is a strict requirement of this practice that you must have had at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine and in addition, you will also need to provide clear evidence of a negative Covid swab performed within 72 hours prior to your consultation. This requirement also applies to anyone who accompanies you, including family, friends, carers or interpreters.

The only exception to the above vaccination requirement is for individuals who have a documented medical exemption to Covid vaccination. You will be required to provide official evidence of this exemption prior to your appointment with Dr Patel.

As previously stated, the above measures have been instituted to help prevent spread of COVID 19 and to maximise the safety of all involved. Your understanding and cooperation is very much appreciated.
